Splendour 08:55
“Onward Forward Leave behind Your anguish Racing Reaching Gaze upon The Splendour” What sting is this that comes to afflict me The skies fume red with fury Armies of Heaven fall He wages war to save me and brings my soul to glory For in these sufferings He walks in great abundance ever so near among us Behold The one Who calls In fury (In fury) “Onward Forward Leave behind Your anguish Racing Reaching Gaze upon The Splendour” But with heart entrenched in mire Darkness beckons my heart to slumber Still you lay waste to the void What trial has yet to halt my God Does He yet shake the mountains Does He still roar the seas The God of shepherds and lilies Yet still has eyes for me Where is the plain God’s hand cannot extend Where is this depth that God cannot descend Forever the victor of the age Oh, what great a captor whom I belong Who stole me in great love In grace confining Adonai, You are for me Behold the king, mighty in wonder His presence fills my downcast soul, His arm is reaching, ever so longing. Glory! Behold the king, He comes now! He searches the earth to know my name He is the Lord All majesty defined Glory to the King Glory to the King Amen “Onward Forward Leave behind Your anguish Racing Reaching Gaze upon The Splendour” Forevermore

about

Inspired by Philippians 3:12-14, "Splendour" is a call to press on through the pain and darkness we all must endure throughout this life. "The Splendour" resembles God's glory as something to be pursued whole-heartedly while rejecting the fleeting and empty promises of the corrupt man-made systems that ruthlessly demand our conformity. We are beckoned to yield our awe and devotion to the King who will one day make all things right and give meaning to our present suffering.
